In this Staff Blog, to answer a common question we receive from customers, "I'd love to see apple leather items that have actually been used for several years!", we're introducing some beloved items that LOVST staff members have been using for three years.

The condition of an item can vary depending on its frequency and manner of use, but we hope you'll find this a helpful example!

◾️ Director Fumi's "Apple Half-moon Card Case"

Fumi, the director responsible for LOVST TOKYO's creative work, uses a black "Apple Half-moon Card Case."

This item was launched at the beginning of 2022.

To verify its usability, she started using it a little earlier, around winter 2021, before its official release. It has been about two and a half years since she started using it, and she uses it roughly every 2-3 days.

As you can see from the photos, the original luster of the apple leather remains unchanged, which is great!

There are no noticeable fraying in the seams or damage to the leather surface.

The only area of concern would be some slight cracking in the edge coating (the coating on the edges of the leather), but it's almost imperceptible at a glance.

Moreover, in terms of actual use, she feels that "the leather feels a little softer and more comfortable in my hand than when I first started using it."

While apple leather doesn't offer the same kind of "aging" enjoyment as genuine leather, it does gradually become more familiar with use.

Many items that might feel a bit stiff when purchased become soft and easier to use after a few months!

◾️ PR Ann's "Apple Naked Sacoche"

The "Apple Naked Sacoche" has been a beloved item in the LOVST TOKYO product lineup since its very early days.

I've been using it since its launch, and I'm now in my third year of ownership.

I use it quite frequently, sometimes even 7 days a week. Nowadays, I often carry larger bags like the "Apple 2-Way Tote Bag," so I use it on average 3-4 days a week.

Regarding the leather surface, there's almost no impression of deterioration so far.

I use it without worrying about rain, and my maintenance consists only of wiping it dry if it gets wet. I'm happy that its luxurious luster hasn't been lost!

Also, this material is firm and glossy, and it's resistant to scratches, so there are no noticeable scratches on it at all yet.

If I had to point out a concern, it would be the same as before: cracking of the edge coating. While the main body is perfectly fine, some cracks have appeared on a flexible part of the shoulder strap.

In fact, I've shown this sacoche to customers at POP-UP events multiple times as an example of apple leather's durability. They all consistently say, "It's hardly deteriorated at all!" so I believe there's very little impression of visible deterioration.

It doesn't seem like I'll need to replace it anytime soon, so I plan to keep using it actively for a long time!
