for Circular Living

At LOVST TOKYO, we are committed to minimizing waste and plastic emissions in our products and supply chain, thereby reducing our environmental impact.

We aim to offer a new experience for a more sustainable lifestyle, alleviating the everyday stress of discarding things.

シードペーパー

The product tags are made from 100% recycled paper that is eco-friendly, created by recycling waste paper and embedding various flower seeds into it. (We may also use "FSC certified paper" tags depending on stock availability.) If you soak them in water overnight and bury them in soil, they will sprout within a few days and eventually bloom. Each sheet of seed paper is handmade and air-dried.

*Depending on the product, recycled paper tags may also be used.

Gift Wrapping

Some of our gift packages use "lost flowers" and "banana paper."

The "banana paper" handled by LOVST TOKYO is paper made from banana fibers extracted from the stems of organic bananas that would otherwise be discarded. The work of extracting the fibers is carried out by women in impoverished villages in Zambia as part of a fair trade initiative, and the paper is named "One Planet Paper®︎" because it supports the self-reliance of local people.

Compared to trees that take 10 to 30 years to grow slowly, banana stems regenerate within a year even after being cut. Therefore, the use of banana paper helps prevent the destruction of forests and ecosystems caused by the extensive use of paper.

Boxes

All of our standard packaging and gift boxes use "forest certified paper." "Forest certified paper" refers to paper raw materials that have been certified and verified to have been produced with consideration for the environment and local communities, from forest management and logging to paper manufacturing and sales. This helps protect forests from illegal logging and enables the sustainable use of forest resources with consideration for local communities.

In addition, the "non-wood fiber content" is 25%, which indicates the proportion of pulp made from plant seed hairs, bark, and stem fibers, rather than wood pulp. By primarily using fast-growing plants that regenerate in one year as raw materials, the amount of new wood used is reduced, which also contributes to forest protection.

緩衝材

All cushioning materials used for packing are made from recycled paper. Since they are paper-based, they can be disposed of as waste paper.
