We asked our users! What is the meaning behind your engraving?

"I want to engrave something unique to me, something that will last a long time."
"I want to give a special, one-of-a-kind gift to someone important to me."

LOVST TOKYO's engraving service was started to fulfill these wishes.

From our classic engraved item, the "Apple Room Key", designed to resemble a vintage hotel room key, to items you carry every day like the "Apple AirPods Case", and even smartphone straps and bags, a wide range of items can be engraved.

So, what kind of thoughts and feelings do our users put into their engravings?

To find out, we conducted a survey among those who used our engraving service. Thank you for the overwhelming number of responses!

In this Staff Blog, we'll introduce some heartwarming "engraving stories" shared by our customers.

 

As an item that stays with you every day

The most common response in the survey was that the engraving was chosen as a gift for oneself.

I chose my initials to subtly claim it as my own. ("Apple Half-moon Boston Bag" / "M")

I agonized over many patterns, like my initials or birth year, but I decided on my birthday because it felt more like me and less likely to be duplicated by others! ("Apple Room Key" / "1226")

I wanted to make it feel more special and cherish it by adding my initials. ("Apple 2Way Half-moon Strap" / "r.m")

It seems that everyone chose their engraved letters and numbers with special thoughts in mind.

Some even engraved "2026" because they "wanted to use their lucky color for a year," and others engraved their birth year "to remember their origins."

The words engraved on items we hold every day seem to become like talismans, subtly encouraging us in unexpected moments.

 

A gift that embodies the "bond" with loved ones

Many people also chose to engrave connections with partners, family, and beloved pets.

Because it's the day we confirmed our feelings and started dating. ("Apple Room Key" / "1126")

I had my children's (two of them) birthdays engraved. ("Apple Room Key" / "1213")

The initials of my pet's name, my name, and my husband's name. ("Apple Room Key" / "CHM")

Many people engraved their wedding anniversary on matching "Apple Room Keys" or subtly included their dog's name.

Items engraved with meaningful words or dates were often given as heartfelt gifts.

Customers sometimes tell us, "Thanks to this, I never forget our anniversary anymore!"

By carrying a special memory that you want to share with your loved one, you can feel warm inside at unexpected moments.

 

Engrave your "likes" and "dreams"

In addition, we received many unique engraving ideas!

It's my favorite idol's birthday. I discreetly engrave their birthday and attach it to my bag as merchandise. Most idol merchandise is colorful and cute, making it difficult to carry, but this is simple, elegant, and stylish, matching my taste and style, and I secretly enjoy it. The anniversary of my store opening. ("Apple Room Key" / "A47")

Because the name I use in games is "Yoko-shi". ("Apple Room Key" / "4154")

From those who stylishly enjoy their hobbies to those who engrave it as a commemoration of their dreams coming true, each person's individuality shines through.

Some even said, "A dear friend is opening a new cafe, so I asked for their shop name to be engraved," making us realize the infinite possibilities for utilizing custom-made gifts.

From each survey response, we could feel the excitement you felt when you received the item and the time you spent carefully deciding on the words to engrave. It warmed our staff's hearts.
