What was the development background and attention to detail that led to this latest creation, which possesses an unprecedented appeal?

The Birth of the "Apple Quilting" Series

 

ー What was the inspiration behind the "Apple Quilting" series?

The inspiration was my desire to create a laptop case.

Since it's an item used every day for work, I thought, "I want it to be more than just convenient; I want it to be something that people who lead busy lives can feel soothed by every time they use it."

As LOVST TOKYO is a vegan leather brand, I believed the soothing sensation we could offer would be through the texture. So, we challenged ourselves to develop an item using quilted stitching to create a soft, fluffy feel.

 

ー Please tell us why you chose an apple silhouette for the quilting.

Actually, we had received many requests in user surveys to create apple-motif items.

However, if the motif was too strong, it would become too cute, so I was constantly thinking about a balance that adults could easily use... I came up with the idea that quilted stitching could provide a "subtle expression" where you would only notice it was an apple upon closer inspection.

Incidentally, this pattern features the same nuanced apple silhouette as the "Apple Coaster."

 

Product Development Story

ーWhat are the key features of the "Apple 2Way Quilting Laptop Bag"?

Nowadays, there are truly diverse work styles, such as remote work and workations.

That's why we deliberately chose a combination strap of nylon cord and apple leather for this bag, making it slightly more casual and easy to match with a wide range of work outfits.

However, the overall balance is adjusted to easily match clean-cut styles, so I think you can enjoy it with everything from office casual to relaxed outfits like denim and sneakers.

Another key feature is that one side is quilted and the other is plain. You can change the visible side depending on your mood, and use it as a simple PC case.

Also, because I truly wanted people to use it every day, I made sure to include three compartments and ample storage capacity so that it can carry not only a laptop but also a mouse and charging cables!

ーWhat did you focus on during the development of the "Apple Quilting Card Case"?

The "Apple Quilting Card Case" was developed with a focus on creating a matching balance so that it would look even cuter when carried with the "️️Apple 2Way Quilting Laptop Bag."

Both items incorporate rounded silver parts—a ring on the laptop bag's zipper pull and a front piece with the brand logo on the card case—to create a subtle sense of connection.

Furthermore, precisely because it is a playful design, we wanted to ensure a sense of quality. So, we used glossy apple leather on the inside, creating a combination design with two different textures of apple leather.

In terms of practicality, we've included a folding gusset and three compartments to make it easy for cashless users to use it as a wallet.

Even with about 20 business cards, you can still store cards and bills in the other spaces, so surprisingly many people might find this one item sufficient.

To all those diligently living in the modern age

As FUMI mentioned in the interview, the "Apple Quilting" series was created for adults living in today's fast-paced world.

"My hope is that the tension in people's hearts, which tightens without them realizing it, will loosen a little each time they touch the gentle quilting."
